Product List Help

Use the Product List to drill down through either the Content or Subject Types to locate a database to Search or Browse. By default the products are listed under 5 main Content Types - (Cases, Commentaries, Current Awareness, Encyclopaedia, Journals) the display of which will vary based on your current subscription. Simply click on the + plus sign to begin drilling down to locate a product.

To change the display of the Table of Contents you may choose to select Subject Type - this display replicates the current Table of Contents within Lawbook Online and provides an alternative display for browsing.

Eg1: To browse or search the Commonwealth Law Reports
Content Type

Click on the Cases +plus sign and select Commonwealth Law Reports. The Reports search form will be displayed. Simply enter your search terms or case citation into the appropriate field(s) and click Search.

To Browse the Commonwealth Law Reports click on the Reports folder or +plus sign in the Table of Contents, then click Commonwealth Law Reports to display a list of volumes. Select a volume then a case title to display the full text of the case.

Subject Type

Click on the Reports + plus sign and select Commonwealth Law Reports. The Reports search form will be displayed. Simply enter your search terms or case citation into the appropriate field(s) and click Search.

Note: The Reports, Unreported cases and Journals have not yet migrated to the new User Interface and will continue operating in the Lawbook Online environment.

Eg2: To browse or search the High Court Practice
Content Type

Click on the Commentaries +plus sign and select High Court Practice. This will open the Commentaries Online service and display a list of subject titles and material contained within High Court Practice on the LHS and a Search screen.

To continue browsing simply drill down through the subject titles in the table of contents.

To conduct a keyword search enter search term(s) into the relevant Search boxes and click Search.

Subject Type

Click on the Reports + plus sign and select High Court Practice. This will open the Commentaries Online service and display a list of subject titles and material contained within High Court Practice on the LHS and a Search screen.

To continue browsing simply drill down through the subject titles in the table of contents.

To conduct a keyword search enter search term(s) into the relevant Search boxes and click Search.

Eg3: To browse or search the The Laws of Australia
Content Type

Click on the Encyclopaedia + plus sign and select The Laws of Australia. This will open The Laws of Australia and display a list of TLA subject titles on the LHS and a Search form on the RHS.

To continue browsing simply drill down through the subject titles in the table of contents.

To conduct a keyword search enter search term(s) into the appropriate search fields select a TLA title from the dropdown list and click Search

Subject Type

Click on the Research +plus sign and select The Laws of Australia. This will open The Laws of Australia and display a list of TLA subject titles on the LHS and a Search form on the RHS.

To continue browsing simply drill down through the subject titles in the table of contents.

To conduct a keyword search enter search term(s) into the appropriate search fields select a TLA title from the dropdown list and click Search.

Eg4: To browse or search the Alert24
Content Type

Click on the Current Awareness +plus sign and select Alert24. This will open the Alert24 service and display a My Topics list.

Select a Topic from the LHS to display a list of items.

To conduct a keyword search enter search term(s) into the appropriate search fields and click Search.

Subject Type

Click on Research +plus sign and select Alert24. This will open the Alert24 service and display a My Topics list.

Select a Topic from the LHS to display a list of items.

To conduct a keyword search enter search term(s) into the appropriate search fields and click Search.

Eg5: To browse or search the Australian Law Journal
Content Type & Subject Type

Click on the Journals +plus sign and select Australian Law Journal. The Journals search form will be displayed. Simply enter your search terms into the appropriate field(s) and click Search.

To browse click on the Journals folder in the Lawbook Online Table of Contents. Select Australian Law Journal to display a list of Volumes available.

Note: The Reports, Unreported cases and Journals have not yet migrated to the new User Interface and will continue operating in the Lawbook Online environment.
